Why Texas Vineyards
Since 2008, there has been a large shortage of vineyards to meet the grape demand from Texas wineries.
Texas wineries are currently purchasing grapes from California at high shipping costs to meet the supply gap.
5,000+ Acres Needed in Texas
There are currently only ~5,000 producing vineyard acres in Texas. The current demand from wineries requires at least an additional ~5,000 acres/~14,000 tons of grapes; this does not include future market growth.
Additional Demand in Central U.S.
There is additional grape demand in the central U.S. - east of the Rockies and west of the Mississippi River. These wineries are currently buying grapes from California at a premium due to transportation costs. It is much more cost-effective for us to ship to them directly.
Texas Climate & Land Cost
The Texas High Plains AVA is a prime climate for grape-growing. Additionally, raw land with ideal soil and water resources cost substantially less than California, providing greater profit margins and returns for investors.
